Fire Cider

  • 10 cloves organic garlic, crushed

  • 1 medium organic onion, chopped

  • Juice + zest from 1 organic lemon

  • 2 organic jalapenos, chopped

  • 1/2 C fresh organic ginger root, grated OR ginger powder

  • 1/2 C grated organic horseradish root OR horseradish powder

  • 1 Tbsp organic turmeric powder

  • 2 Tbsp fresh OR dried organic rosemary leaves

  • 1/4 tsp organic cayenne powder

  • 2 Cups organic apple cider vinegar

  • Raw, organic local honey, to taste.

Prep all herbs and fruits as indicated. Add them all to a quart-sized glass jar. Pour the apple cider over the contents, covering until the vinegar reaches just near the jar’s top. Add a piece of parchment to the top, under the lid to ensure the vinegar does not touch the metal lid. Close and shake well.

Store in a cool, dark place and shake the mixture daily. After 1-month, strain the liquid, pouring into a clean glass jar. Gently press/squeeze the contents to remove all the good stuff from the pulpy mixture. Add the desired amount of honey - taste until your desired sweetness is reached.

Take by the spoonful daily, add to salads, pastas or sauces. Enjoy your cider!
