If you’re like us, you’re always on the hunt for the best, clean beauty and personal products. Admittedly, we’re not the type to wear a ton of product, instead, we prefer simple + natural (to let the soul glow!). We do, however, care about maintaining healthy skin while paying close attention to what’s being APPLIED TO or ABSORBED by our skin. After all, it’s our largest organ! It’s also nice to dab a bit of makeup on some days to feel more human (aka sexy, beautiful, less Mom-ish, etc.). You feel us?! Here are some great products that we’ve used for ourselves and our families. Trading your current products for clean options can have a huge impact on your health! Enjoy!

Moisturizers + Masques

Moisturizer.

Who doesn’t love or NEED a good moisturizer?! Many skin types are accepting of Acure Seriously Soothing Day Cream.
It’s light but nourishing, absorbs well and has a lovely, fresh scent.

We love a rich cream for the colder months, but find many too heavy. C&Co. Lavender Cold Cream is plant-based and hydrates + provides the perfect barrier to the cold winter elements. Just a pea-sized amount covers your entire face + neck, so the jar lasts a good long time. Not only does it feel fabulous, but the scent of lavender is so calming - a perfect addition to your evening routine.

This Pure Olive Squalene Facial Oil has become a fast favorite! Turnrow is an Atlanta area-based, female-owned natural bath & body retailer. We love that they source their ingredients from a local farm. It’s an amazing lightweight option, which leaves the skin so soft & more supple.

Masque.

Carly recently started using One Love Organics Love + Charcoal Masque for several reasons: wanting to feel more refreshed after a long day, desired some detoxifying power, and wanted a product to support skin resilience. Besides fulfilling these needs, using this mask has become an evening routine that helps in winding down and to indulge in much-needed + well-deserved self-care. Face Towelettes.

Oh, the love for these...Admittedly, there are plenty of days any skincare routine goes out the door after a long day. Memories take us back to caring for our babies and forgetting to brush our teeth or wash our faces before falling asleep. Oopsie! Enter Acure Seriously Soothing Micellar Towelettes. The cloths are thick and we love the fresh scent and texture. Not necessarily an “everyday” product, but great to have on hand for tired nights or travel. You’ll thank us later.

Makeup

Eyes.

100% Pure Pretty Naked II Palette: This palette is amazing to create both daytime or evening looks. We’re certainly not makeup artists, but it’s easy to blend different colors and shades. It wears well while the 100% Pure name gives us confidence in the ingredients. (p.s. You are so pretty!)

Tint Skin Hydrating Foundation by Beautycounter: If you’re looking for light, effortless coverage, you’ll love this hydrating foundation. It’s just enough to even out skin tone without all the harsh chemicals. Pee- yeww! (Beautycounter has a great return policy if you’re trying something for the first time.)

Lips.

Vapour Lux Organic Lip Conditioner: Left feeling a bit dehydrated? Lips need a little TLC? THIS lip conditioner is great to have on hand and we especially love it for traveling. It’s creamy, smooth, and feels super nourishing! (Don’t forget to drink your H2O to hydrate from the inside out - what really matters!)

Vapour Siren Lipstick: Much like the lip conditioner, this lipstick is refreshing, creamy, and not sticky! They have a great variety of shades for easy-to-wear casual or for a more striking look. Pick your potion!

This Pacifica Color Quench Lip Tint is super moisturizing and provides the perfect sheer lip color - great for daily use!

Nail Care

Definitely not consistent mani/pedi gals here, but who doesn’t enjoy a fresh set of fingers and toes. We love bonding with our daughters exchanging nail services in our kitchens. We don’t, however, enjoy the harsh smell or toxic polish used at some nail salons. For our daughters we keep a few Piggy Paints, and also like their line for us adults, Sophi by Piggy Paint. Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover is low odor and hypoallergenic! We love that we can grab a few new shades with our regular Thrive Market orders. Time and money saver, a double win!

Underarm

Who hasn’t tried at least a million different “clean” deodorants, to no avail?! It’s easy to forget that we all have different environments under our arms, which contain different bacteria colonies creating an unwelcoming aroma post-workout, during a stressful presentation, or after playing chase with the kiddos. Each of us may react to deodorants differently. We’ve found these work the best!

Ursa Major Hoppin’ Fresh Deodorant: We love the packaging and can easily throw it in your bag if you think you’ll need to re-apply during the day.

We’ve also had great results with Native deodorant. Our favorite scents are Coconut Vanilla and Cucumber Mint. Native even lists their ingredients with a description of the exact meaning - a great example of full brand disclosure!

Oral Care

Oral health is often overlooked in significance in relation to your overall health. Did you know poor oral health may be a risk factor for, or indicate presence of, conditions such as diabetes or heart disease?! This will surely be a future topic we’ll write about. Choosing clean, functional ingredients in your oral products can have a lasting impact. Here are our favorites. Brush up!

Desert Essence Natural Neem Mouthwash: packs a powerful cinnamon flavored punch without harsh additives or chemicals. Shop for this in our Wellevate Dispensary

Radius Organic Children’s Toothpaste: this toothpaste is safe to use from a young age, while our kiddos love the banana flavor. No worry here of synthetic agents or harmful chemicals!

Auromere Ayurvedic Mint (or mint-free) Toothpaste: We’ve switched toothpastes often, but LOVE this one with its variety of botanical extracts and essential oils.

Sunscreen

SPF 40 Kids Clear Zinc Sunscreen: When our kids plan on spending a lot of time outdoors - at the beach, playing sports, or at a festival, our go-to is SPF 40 Kids Clear Zinc Sunscreen Cream. We’ve found it to be the longest-lasting, it applies relatively clear and has a pleasant, kid-approved scent. It’s also hypoallergenic and reef friendly (let’s give Mother Nature a break!) Goddess Garden: We also love this brand for a safe, effective, biodegradable, chemical-free option. They have a great variety of sticks, creams, and sprays for everyone’s own personal preference. Bug Repellent

Nantucket Spider Extra Strength Natural DEET Free Tick Repellent Spray: Unfortunately, in our neck of the woods (and all across the US), ticks are gaining ground. We like to spray our ourselves and our kids with this DEET-free, essential oil-based product. It’s certainly NOT a guarantee, but we’ve rarely found ticks when we use it.
