Sauteed Brussels with Apple & Bacon (GF/DF)

  • 16 oz fresh, organic brussel sprouts, trimmed + halved

  • 1 organic granny smith apple, chopped into 1/2” cubes

  • 1 organic red apple (we like Fuji or Pink Lady when in season), cut into 1/2” cubes

  • 6 slices cooked bacon, thinly sliced into small pieces (we love Butcher Box bacon - heavenly!)

  • 1/4 tsp sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp pepper

  • Avocado oil or EVOO

  • Coconut Amino Sauce, to taste*

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Spread prepped brussel sprouts on a cookie sheet & drizzle with avocado or olive oil. Gently move around until all are lightly coated. Ensure sprouts are on the sheet in a single layer, not overlapping. Cook approximately 15-20 minutes, until bright green.

Add the prepped bacon, brussel sprouts, all apples, salt, pepper, and coconut aminos to a large, cast iron saute pan. Add 2 Tbsp oil, and cook on medium-high heat, stirring often until brussel sprouts are further softened and the dish is nicely aromatic, about 15 minutes.

Serve immediately + enjoy!

*Coconut aminos are a delicious, soy-free/gluten-free cooking sauce; tastes nearly like soy sauce!
