Kids School Lunch

 

Main Attraction

●      Applegate organic lunch meat - serve with gluten/grain free crackers to make cracker sandwiches

●      Last night’s leftovers - we like to make an extra batch of these meatballs from Danielle Walker (she has AWESOME recipes!)

●      Hamburger patty

●      Hard boiled eggs

●      Organic cheese/goat cheese stick (wrap with meat slice!)

●      Wrap served with Applegate lunch meat, hummus, or even vegan cream cheese with veggie shreds. We love Kite Hill! OR use the meat as the wrap!

●      Soup - try this easy-to-make Minestrone by The Minimalist Baker or your family’s favorite recipe and freeze a few jars to have on hand.

●      Bare chicken nuggets

●      Breakfast sausage patties (make patties out of our favorite sausage from Butcher Box)

 

Veggies

●      Carrots

●      Celery

●      Cherry tomatoes

●      Sweet peppers

●      Sugar snap peas

●      Roasted veggies - sweet potatoes and broccoli work great

●      Tomato and olive “salad”

●      Mashed avocado/Guacamole (serve with veggies for dipping)

 

Fruit

●      Applesauce (try this delicious homemade version from Danielle Walker)

●      Strawberries

●      Blueberries

●      Raspberries

●      Blackberries

●      Cherries (pit for them!)

●      Peaches

●      Orange slices

●      Mandarins/Clementines (kids love peeling these!)

●      Fruit Skewers - use a toothpick and add melon, mango, pineapple, grapes or kiwi

●      Apple sandwich with nut butter (almond, cashew, sunflower seed butter)

  

Sides

●      SeaSnax Seaweed (you’d be surprised how much kids love these crunchy squares!)

●      Dried Fruit - apricots, mango, apple rings

●      Figgy Pops or make your own dried fruit balls - click here!

●      Olives

●      Mini muffins - use your favorite bread or muffin recipe and use mini muffin cups for the perfect snack size. I reach for this delicious Pumpkin Bread recipe from Minimalist Baker in the fall, which can be made vegan and gluten free!

●      Hummus for dipping veggies
